Vincent Willem van Gogh, a Dutch post-impressionist painter, posthumously emerged as one of the most renowned and influential figures in Western art history. Over the course of a decade, he crafted approximately 2,100 artworks, encompassing around 860 oil paintings, with the majority originating from the final two years of his life. His oeuvre spans landscapes, still lifes, portraits, and self-portraits, distinguished by vibrant hues and dynamic, emotive brushstrokes that significantly shaped the trajectory of modern art. Despite his prolific output, van Gogh struggled with commercial success, and his tragic suicide at the age of 37 followed years marked by mental anguish, depression, and financial hardship.
