Saul Bass, born on May 8, 1920, in the Bronx, New York, United States, began his artistic journey at the Art Students League in Manhattan and continued his education with Hungarian artist György Kepes at Brooklyn College. In the 1940s, he ventured into designing print advertisements in Hollywood, later creating his first film poster and title sequence in 1954 for the movie 'Carmen Jones'. Renowned for his effective title sequences and symbolic movie poster designs, Bass gained widespread recognition in the film industry. Additionally, he crafted some of North America's most iconic corporate logos and ventured into writing, producing, and directing short films.
